I mean, it's the only thing that's really changed, right? So it has to be. I have a relative who played some high level hockey, whose opinion I trust more than anyone about hockey, and he said after last year "this team has all the pieces...they just need someone to bring it together".......and sure enough....... I honestly thought Bowness was too old to connect with the players, but he's found a way, whether that be through Arniel or whatever. He's getting it done. Scheiffele said something earlier this season (I'm paraphrasing) that Bowness "doesn't get mad...he just gets really disappointed in you. You feel like you're letting down your grandfather, which you never want to do" So whatever he's doing, he's got them going. Hellebuyck is a Vezina candidate, Morrissey is a Norris candidate, Bowness a Jack Adams candidate..... and they're getting the most possible out of the forwards. it's really quite something.

they're gonna be left with VAJ and no chance are they paying 400 or 600k. The upside to VAJ, if there is one, is that it allows them to be active in FA and get some complimentary players. They'll still suck, because VAJ sucks, but it's a better position than Rourke and nobody else...

anything that smells or tastes like black licorice is not for people under the age of 60 (who still have tastebuds....) so no worries on finding that anywhere near my vicinity!

love that everyone has the "shot of Fireball for a good fish" rule...... I honestly thought that was just us. Love it... Packing the gear tonight and headed out tomorrow morning (3 hour drive to our favourite walleye lake - among the best in AB, anyhow) for a two day rip. Looking forward to our second overnighter and building upon the things we learned the first time around. I shall report back on Monday with the results....the search for a 30" "prairie gold" walter continues...

Even the 600k they claim they're ready to give Rourke seems insane to me. How can you build a team around that??
