- Matthias Goossen or Pierre Lavertu?
I had a long dissertation on the Joe Mack draft record from 2010-13 & the lack of success he had over that time compared to other GMs in the CFL. You know what, I was going to post it but I'm sick & tired of the Joe Mack merry go round that I just said **** it & deleted it.- Happy Birthday Dieter Brock
You're not wrong. It says that right in the little article under his picture. LOL! So I see....- What I miss from the Good Ole Days
Iso - we can't talk about how great things used to be or the sad-sack police aka Noeller and 17 will cry and whine. All I'm going to say is, we were really spoiled back then, especially when you look at some of the pathetic excuses for journalists we have now covering the Bombers. Penton is about the only one who seems to at least give a crap. Iso - we can't talk about how great things used to be or the sad-sack police aka Noeller and 17 will cry and whine. We know.- Happy Birthday Dieter Brock

Was that the game where the Bombers destroyed the Argos? I remember Huffer kicking major ass in that game. I also remember our section chanting "Bring on the Bears!!" We should have gone to the Cup that year, but Kehoe fumbled on the one yard line in the West semi and that was it. Edmonton ended up getting crushed in the Grey Cup, but it was a great learning experience for their two upstart QB kids, Matt Dunigan and Damon Allen. I just know whenever the Riders came to town back then, we'd kill them & shut down the Flame after about 10 minutes. I remember a 61-7 pasting in 1984 with that guy & his flame thrower on the top of his head sitting very quietly in his seat barely moving being taunted by Bomber fans.... And the same game 2 Rider fans were running with this huge Rider banner that got stomped & ripped up by the Winnipeg Stadium crowd....- Matthias Goossen or Pierre Lavertu?
Then explain our horrible situation with our Canadian depth? Who was responsible for that, the equipment manager?- Happy Birthday Dieter Brock
I may be wrong but I believe that Hansen was playing for the Stamps when they won the 48 Grey Cup.- Matthias Goossen or Pierre Lavertu?
Guru is a bit strong, I agree. Actually way too strong. Knowledgeable, yes.- What I miss from the Good Ole Days
I remember Shea Emery's late hit on Drew Tate a couple of years ago. That was about as dirty a hit as there ever was. Funny how Ferri & Emery both played for Marc Trestman who deplored garbage like that.... Or did he?- Matthias Goossen or Pierre Lavertu?
Goosen was a center at SFU & a good one so I hope the Bombers draft him.- Happy Birthday Dieter Brock
He is the original number 5!!! Won our first Grey Cup because of him. I had a neighbour on our street growing up in Winnipeg in the late 60's & early 70's when I was a teen who was a real old time Bomber fan. Right from the beginning of the team back in 1930. He used to regale me with his stories of players in Bomber uniforms like Fritz Hanson, Russ Rebholz, Bob Fritz, Tom Casey, Jack Jacobs along with Woody Strode of the Stamps, Normie Kwong, Jackie Parker & Johnny Bright all of the Eskimos & other real old time Blue Bomber & CFL players. As well as going to games at old Osborne Stadium a place he just adored as a fan. I give him full credit for me becoming a Bomber fan because of those stories. I mean literally he'd get going & sometimes I'd listen to him for a couple of hours just telling stories of the CFL back in the 30's & 40's.... RIP John McGibney & thank you for sharing your knowledge of history & love of the Blue Bombers as well as the old CFL with me. Getting a little choked up posting this....- What I miss from the Good Ole Days
I miss Section V Row 29, Seats 11 & 12 at Canad Inns where my season tickets for the Bombers were from 1974-89 until I moved to Calgary. Never missed one single game in that time. Even with my oldest son being born in Oct' 86. He was born 2 days before a home game on a Friday & my wife said it was okay to go to the game on Sunday.... God bless her!!! I was handing out cigars to everyone & high fiving people who were season ticket holders around me.... Hah, we smoked out everyone in Sec V & W above us. Gave out about 20 cigars that game.... My wife & I had season tickets together. I took my best friend to the game that day. Never forget it.- What I miss from the Good Ole Days
Jack Matheson's Saturday column in the Winnipeg Tribune was a "must read".... The guy was just a brilliant columnist. One of the all time best. Don Blanchard in the Freep was outstanding as well. I would hope anyone old enough to remember those 2 guys covering the Bombers in rival papers would agree with me.- Lions Feeling a Little Down
If the Bombers did that and then didn't sign any of those targeted there would have been mass hysteria in the media and on the message boards. It all comes down to how the team has done business in the past. They probably deserve the criticism. Two way street.- Free Agency - 2014...
Holding out? Where did it say anyone was holding out? Just relax, Jacquie. Holding out for a better deal. It also means not making a quick decision, waiting for a better offer, whatever. Letting 2 teams fight over you. Trying to finagle the best offer possible.- Happy Birthday Dieter Brock
Jim Thorpe, besides having the same famous name as a legendary American Olympian, was an all star flanker with the Argos & Bombers. His career abruptly ended in the spring of 1973 when he was caught stealing weed & (I believe) cocaine across the border into Canada at Detroit in the spring of 1973 about a month before training camp. The Bombers immediately cut him & he never played again in the CFL. He may have gone to the World Football League which was just starting up that year but I don't know. Had he stayed clean, he would have continued to put up all star thousand yard plus seasons with the Bombers having Don Jonas & then Dieter Brock throwing to him. He was just in his mid to late 20's when he was arrested & charged.- What I miss from the Good Ole Days
I miss John Bonk. Now that is a REAL football player's name!- Lions Feeling a Little Down
I like the fact Wally let fans know in the cloak & dagger world of the CFL where teams don't release details of contracts.- Official Expansion Draft Day Thread
Desjardins sure is arrogant. Tables will turn. He's a legend in his own mind. Now all Rory has to do is go out & have a 700 or 800 yard season along with 50 catches & he can shove it up the Ottawa's GM's you know what.- Free Agency - 2014...
Well, assistant coaches holding out. Wonders never cease.- Free Agency - 2014...
Why do you say that? Penton's article says the Bombers are interested.Media was saying yesterday that Walters was done signing free agents. That's not what Walters said at his presser yesterday. Good, I'm glad. I want him to still sign a player or two.... There's still some players out there. - Happy Birthday Dieter Brock
