Training Camp / Practice - June 15
Why should we settle for a game plan. The play books should be posted on their website so we can dissect them and send in improvements. We should also be allowed to vote on the starting line-up. This is a community owned team - it's our right to have this type of input.

First Cut Down Day - list of players released
Can the wrestling stuff be moved to the wrestling thread so we can get this back to football?

First Cut Down Day - list of players released
I'm not getting your math. A shot is 1.5 oz so 100 shots would be 150 oz divide that by 12 oz per beer and that's 12.5 beers. Of course they would have been drinking American beer which would make that the equivalent of about 6 Canadian beer or 3 Aussie beer. (no I did not do the math - it's a joke)

The Ticats played their first pre-season game on June 8 and Ottawa has played both of their pre-season games. Both teams didn't make their cuts until the deadline. What a bunch of idiots. They should have known long before deadline who they would release. /sarcasm

The new guy Malachi Freeman is #14 for those who don't know.

Who gets the axe by Monday?
If Thad Gibson and Derrell Johnson are back I don't think that's necessarily the case... however having both those guys on "personal leave" does make me a little nervous... I don't see it as a fail..We gained Westerman with Ivan Brown rotating in as Canadian which is an up grade over having Thomas and Richardson as a constant rotation and on the field. Thadius Gibson is better than what we had last year, and I think is being under estimated and really being away for birth of a child is hardly concerning. Johnson will be back and is gonna be a stud and We also have Fraser who is a year older, wiser and better and come off the edge..I not too worried especially seeing as we are playing a normal defence and guys who seemed sub par or were looking to be in decline will bounce right back I'm not saying I don't think they'll be back... just "personal leave" means they are gone for some reason that we don't know and we don't know when they'll be back.. that's the reason it makes me a little nervous... when those two are back practising (hopefully this week and in the game Friday) then I'll feel better... I have no issue starting Peach to start the season... but I'd like to know one or both of those guys are around ready to play... Gibson's personal leave was for his girlfriend giving birth.

First Cut Down Day - list of players released
But then what is there to gain? Don't you think the coaches have known for a while who will be cut ? Don't you think if the coaches knew for a while that they would have released all of those players earlier in the week instead of just 5? Doesn't it make sense that for the tougher decisions they would want the extra time to re-watch the game film a few more times and take the time for further evaluations at practice?

First Cut Down Day - list of players released
Seems some people weren't satisfied that the Bombers released 5 players earlier in the week. I guess wanting to get things right is not as important as getting things done quickly to them.

Flag Football
No, but a penalty on every other play will absolutely ruin the game. For me, anyway. But that's on the players more than the officials. When you look at the penalties that were called, there were 10 holding calls, 9 offside/procedure calls, 4 illegal blocks and 5 unnecessary roughness/face mask/roughing the passer calls. In this game there were 7 illegal contact and 5 forward pass interference penalties called. In the other 4 pre-season games combined there have been 9 illegal contact and 9 forward pass interference penalties called (6 of the FPI calls came in our game in Toronto). So far in the pre-season, the Riders/Esks game has been the exception, not the norm.

And with BC releasing Derrick Morgan, it looks like he will be heading back to the FBI's BAU now.

Flag Football
I disagree. This game was an example of two teams playing undisciplined football imo. And I don't think the 10 yard illegal contact penalty will ruin the game.

Jets release pre-season schedule
The 25th is a home game for the Bombers. There is another date that conflicts as well but it's a road game.

CFL Preseason B Other Games BC vs Cal / Mtl vs Ott / Ssk vs Edm
This game also gave a new addition for the Rod Black drinking game. How many shots should be done for a "32 point kick"?

Christopher Lee dies at age 93
Fox screwed up again. They reported the death of Christopher Lee and used a picture of Peter Cushing.

Around the CFL Offseason Discussion
Could be medical issues. They said he missed a few days of camp because of migraines.

Jets release pre-season schedule
The Bomber game starts at 7:30 and will be on TSN 1/3/4/5. The Jets pre-season game isn't televised as far as I know. If its a pre-season Jets game, is that really a conflict? Like who the hell cares. You don't care. I don't care. But there might be some people who do care.

Bombers TC/Practice -- June 11th
Good grief! Exaggerate much. Portis is only 1-1/2 years older than Marve and this will be his 3rd season in the CFL. Marve has more game experience than Portis, btw.
-
TC/Practice -- June 12
Did Morgan have 2 interceptions today? Media saying Morgan picked off a Portis throw.
