  1. Looks like Metchié is going to be an Elk. https://3downnation.com/2025/02/03/sources-edmonton-elks-agree-to-terms-with-canadian-db-royce-metchie/
  2. He's still young and may benefit from a change of scenery. He'll be in tough in camp though. We've lost quite a few D-Linemen but several others have already been added to the pipeline. Looks to be an open competition.
  3. Argos have reached an agreement with Celestin Haba per Dan Ralph. https://x.com/danralphcp/status/1886505216629203320
  4. I can't see it here. I reckon we re-sign every free agent who takes our offer ( our modus operandi being one of offering the player what we're willing to spend at their position, and if they want to try and do better we will be sorry to part but wish them well ). Then we shop at the spare parts store for good players who couldn't find a home. (Like Grant and Bailey last year). If Hatcher is one of these, we may be in for him. Then we go try to pull more stars out of our magic bag of them. (Stiggers, Holley, Brinkman, Polk types)
  5. You wouldn't rather Cameron Dukes? Hoping we retain Scott.
  6. Well it wasn't before Sunday... But it got done. Now about Brink, Amos, Metchié, Arbuckle, Smith, Haggerty, Sopik, Adeleke and so on (and so on)... And if we're able (unlikely), Ceresna.
  7. MOSTP Stays an Argo. https://www.argonauts.ca/2025/01/31/reigning-most-outstanding-special-teams-player-janarion-grant-re-ups-with-toronto/
  8. Not for about 12 days, he isn't.
  9. Home ownership in this city would be a tough one for most of them.
  10. I can't blame anyone for trying to get paid what they believe they're worth. We had the best players and they all deserve a raise. They just can't all have it in The Big Smoke.
  11. Hamilton, Edmonton and Sask usually are ready to bid up our free agents. I don't think we'll be players for Ceresna. Still hoping to see the Argo IG account post a toothpick before Sunday (when the tampering window opens). We have so many guys available... I'm prepped for a big exodus.
  12. With puns like that, you'd better walk the line or else the mods will have at you.
  13. Congrats on winning the 2025 West Final.
  14. Argos re-sign Damonte Coxie. Terms not disclosed (yet).
  15. If I had to guess? 3 things: -salary pinch is real and we're still likely to see a lot of guys get thanked for their service... -Jones was getting NFL looks not long ago but wasn't that guy as the year went on -Isaac Darkangelo Concert Hall!
  16. I've looked at it enough now that even with my level of paranoia and persecution complex, I think we got the Best Schedule Ever. I don't know which CFL official got the sneaky brown envelope from MLSE and I don't care. Now we just need to rebuild/reload/re-sign and get ready to roll. Sorry about the Bombers getting the **** end of the stick schedule-wise. Really am.
  17. I may be missing something obvious in the schedule that is bad for the Argos, but I can't see it. This looks very favorable for us. Been a long time since getting the season's schedule didn't spike my blood pressure.
  18. Don't put that out there! Dog-gone-it. He seems to be a bit under the radar for what passes for CFL press/commentariat types. I have Brink as very high priority because I see him as a one-off in our league. Nobody does what he does. Ceresna may be the best at what he does, but can we find another 3-tech? Yes. Can we find a purer Nose than Brink? I genuinely don't think such a player existed in the league last season.
  19. EDIT (didn't see you'd given Kelly his due before I'd commented. Mea Culpa) And Kelly. 3 in a row. And as for the Glenn/MBT debate, for me it isn't close. I'd never want Glenn. He is the average'est QB we've ever witnessed. Game manager? Sure. But if he is behind in the game that he was managing, can he strap his team on his back and will his team to a victory? Nope. MBT could though.
  20. I thought Liam Dobson was still a young'un... Was surprised when I browsed your team roster page. (and don't get me started about child labour laws and Jason Person)
  21. I've come to embrace it as how the Good Ship Argo sails these past few years. We do it throughout camp, the season and still churn it year round. The brain-trust (which I guess is just Murphy now? IDK?) in conjunction with the coaches review the guys on the bottom half of our roster and if they have the chance to be a frontline starter we keep them if we can (we get poached a lot) and if they are just OK or for whatever reason they aren't a fit or up to standard, they're wished all the best in their future endeavors. Sometimes it looks weird like when we drop our leading receiver during a QB suspension. Other times you go through enough players that you get a big hit like a Holley or a Stiggers. From a fan perspective you can never get too attached, but boy howdy it keeps your interest level up in every name on the team sheet.
  22. Pretty much an annual event around here. You do well -> Players deserve a raise for it -> They can't all get one here -> Churn that roster Sad about Adeboboye. He and his family are big favorites here. Local boy who plays a big role on Teams and subs in at Runningback to great effect. Goes to every GTA area football fundraiser/school/tournament. Delightful people. But Holley is in the NFL, Brinkman and Ceresna are FAs so we needed more D-Linemen on the roster. I hope Andre Carter comes up here and does a job for us. And with the makeup of our RB rotation being American, it just doesn't seem like a place we can have a National. To everything churn, churn, churn, There is a season churn, churn, churn...
  23. Just to put a different spin on the discussion, imagine if going into this game that the teams had each others' QB2 & QB3. So you'd have had Collaros backed up by Arbuckle and Dukes. The Argos would've had Wilson backed up by Dolegala and Scott. That would've been a masacre.
  24. Thank Flutie for that. Sick of losing a home game every year
  25. He was endearingly self deprecating in that article. He'd have made a lot more friends in the online CFL community if he'd have mixed some of that in.
