The Tech Thread
If people get lost in the bush or are in emergency life threatening situations then I have no problem with this. Besides, if you really don't want to be connected then leave your devices at home. Back in the mid 60's, I remember as a kid my Dad, Uncle & I were fishing on the Winnipeg River about 30 miles past Pointe Du Bois. We hit a rock that sheared the bottom of our outboard motor off. We got to shore & then waited & waited until finally a boat came by, saw us waving frantically & towed us back to the dock. We were onshore for hours waiting. It wouldn't have been pleasant spending the night on shore as we weren't prepared for it. I'm not very familiar with this technology so I don't know much about it. Sounds like we could have called out for help today. Is that right?

CFL - 2023 Regular Season - Discussion Thread
Rider fans are revolting. They're demanding changes. That shiny bright new stadium will look as empty as McMahon if the 3 stooges running the team aren't gone. I see one in Dickenson & maybe two gone including O'Day. Craig Reynolds will suck up to the BOD & keep his job as President.

Dickenson is done. He knows it so he'll really run things like a clown show for their last week together.

Nothing-at-stake Saturday: Birds v Antlers, Rouge et Noir vs Boats
Since free agency is still 4 months away it's fun to speculate. If I was Mauldin, I'd want to get as far away from that rotten organization as I could. Actually go to a team like the Bombers that has something to play for every week.

GDT Game 2 vs Florida
This team has to start winning.

Crappy GM. Crappy Head Coach, Crappy team. Most players & caoches should be sent packing & find something they do well.

Ch-ch-ch-changes. Just gonna have to be a different one. Time may change me. But I can't trace time... Do you really think the same players will be coming back next year? There'll be ch-ch-ch-changes.

The RIP 2023 Thread
I'm sure there was more than one qb or halfback who filled his pants knowing Butkus would be there to "greet"him as soon as he crossed the LOS. Or came hard on a blitz.

Is Lorenzo Mauldin signed to just a 1 year deal? If so, what a pick up he'd be for the Bombers in free agency. maybe he's tired of playing on a shitty team & would want to be part of a Championship contender! If Mauldin's indeed a free agent, we should go after him hard.

I lived through three. The Zaleski Years 1967-69, Reinbold Years 1996-97 & Tim Burke 2011-13.

Surely you jest. No football stadiums are going to be built in Alberta. Period. The Esks had a perfect sized stadium when the CWG were held in 1978 at 42,000. They should have left the stadium alone. The World University games were held twice afterwards in Edmonton & foolishly they expanded CWS to 59,000. They should demolish a portion of both upper decks to bring capacity down to 40,000. Engineering wise, I don't even know if that's possible. Just a thought. I'll take the guy who keeps getting open even if he's 5'6.

Friday Night Football - Bombers at Leos: GDT
Yeah, my Dad served in WW2 & was a hard drinker. Your Great Uncle Doug & my dad were known to have a few pops now & then.

FNF Double Dip..... Leos at Cats. 4 Stripes at Stumps GDT
Dunigan's team was worse. This team just loses. It's not a circus like it was when F Troop ran it twenty years ago.

My dad knew Jack as well. My dad liked his beer & alcohol just like Jack & your Great Uncle did. I'm sure they all tied a few on.

Age & upside. I think they feel O'Leary-Orange may be ready to step up & is much younger than Agudosi. Also, we need to develop more impact Canadian receivers.

I never saw the game as I was on the road but the question I have is why isn't our secondary physical like it used to be? They used to make the other teams receivers pay. Now they play with pillows.

They'll just tell us it's none of our business. That players are entitled to privacy & to quit asking because fans have no right to ask. Or other bullshit like that. Until they want to know themselves. Lol.

Former Bombers in NFL (and spring leagues) news
Where did you hear that? Farhan Lalji & Dave Naylor were talking about that cap about 6 weeks ago right after Rick Lelacheur was hired to replace Victor Cui. Naylor told Lalji the cap won't be going away any time soon. This is an Ambrosie initiative along with Craig Reynolds of the Riders. they aggressively pushed for this cap to go through so they won't get rid of it that easily. According to Naylor, Lelacheur wants the punitive financial measures of firing a coach or GM to stop counting against the cap to give teams wiggle room to get rid of management & coaches not performing. The actual cap would stay at the level it's at now.

Season 3 of Heels on Starz has been cancelled. Damn. I loved that show. Was looking forward to it coming back. They made the announcement last week.

The cap won't be going away anytime soon thanks to Randy Ambrosie & the CFL Board of Dinosaurs.

It was disappointing. When Tyler got to SFU & the coaching carousel began, he could have gone into the Transfer Portal but he didn't want to. He wanted to stay where he was. I think if he had to do it over he would have transferred. He was competing for playing time with another qb from Phoenix who had transferred in to SFU from North Dakota State. They both shared playing time for 2 years.

SNF Kitty Cats at 4 Stripes
I know Rod Pederson. I used to feel the same way about him as y'all do but once I met him it's nothing but a radio act. He's actually a very good guy away from the mic. He pushes his podcast & has been dry now for a number of years. His drinking had caused him to be fired from his job as pbp for the Riders & Regina Pats. Life is good for the guy now & he's a lot happier. He's not as big a Rider fan as you think he is.
