I'm sure that's part of the equation. But that begs the question: is the system in place overcomplicated? Of course the players are required to execute, but is system requiring too much when it isn't necessary? It's just mystifying how the defense as a whole, despite some key personnel changes (upgrades, in many cases), continues to struggle with the same problems under Hall's guidance. Something's gotta give and I think it's the man in charge, not his troops.

Great news re: Flanders. His return really ought to help the offense. Bad news re: Briggs. He's a damn solid STer.

He's been with the team since late June of 2015 and has one career regular season start under his belt. The sample size is still way too small, so it's anyone's guess if he'll ever be the go-to when Nichols can't.

Not a new GM but an additional proven piece to scout talent. Barker or the like could be a good asset in a AGM/head scout type of role. You always have to look to improve, IMO. And with the mounting injuries, the team's depth is being tested with some pretty mediocre results.

Absolutely. For familiarity's sake, though, I think Barker would be a good fit. He and O'Shea have history working with the Argos.

I'd put Jim Barker ahead of him. And yes, I say that even with respect to last year's fleecing in the Drew Willy Trade. As AGM/head of scouting, Barker would be an excellent asset. And besides, I'm not sure if Taman and his napkin portfolio would be a good fit with the WFC of present.

Kelly's all of six months younger. And he hasn't played in a football game since 2014. Carr, OTOH, has continued to play football, in the AFL. One thing they both have in common: neither are worth a look right now, if ever again.
