CIS Draft - May 2nd
Good, let the other teams deal with Hardaway's clients. Why would any team would take one of them first overall again?

I know almost nothing about structural engineering, but I'm curious how long that roof will last and how much snow it can hold. Or does the snow just melt off because the material has almost no R-value, and the building will cost millions of dollars per year to heat? Also, as minimal as it was, the old conservatory was free to visit. I'm sure you'll be looking at a minimum of $15-20 a person to experience this monument to excess.

Did those cuts offset the increased and expanded PST? They also froze the basic personal exemption for years, which is effectively a tax hike on low-income folks. Not defending the current gov, just pointing out that they all have flaws.

I was just pointing out that he was criticizing someone for making middle-class tax cuts a priority, and then complaining that high-income and corporate tax cuts were pushing the tax burden on to the middle class. I don't mind paying taxes if the government is using them responsibly, but it's all the inefficiency and waste that really grinds my gears.

So are high income taxes for the middle class a problem or not?

The Tech Thread
Here's a fantastic account of a local guy getting jerked around by BellMTS in order to keep his discount: https://twitter.com/Brent_Neill/status/1116461907966332929 I switched to TekSavvy for my internet last month and it couldn't have gone smoother. Went from paying Shaw $75 for 15 mb/s to $37.95 for 25 mb/s (both unlimited). Signed up for Tek online and just hooked up the modem they sent me on service change day. When I called Shaw to cancel (and waited on hold for 25 minutes), the guy first said "what can we do to keep you with us", but when I told him it was too late and told him who I was switching to, he basically said "I don't blame you, we can't come near their prices".

And quite a few of them do both...

On the other hand, they could also start a new business and then have the government bail it out when they threaten to move or close down.

Cut too thick as well, and not double-fried (or not fried long enough).

It's across the street from work, so I end up there from time to time. Chicken fingers are the best bet, but I can't stand their fries. So mushy and dry on the inside. ☹️

Serious question: which anthem(s) is/are sung at London NFL games (or the TO games for that matter). Just curious.

Geez, if the Tavern is considered to be a better option, it must have been really bad.

Around the League: 2019 Off Season
The Raiders have three first-round picks this year, plus Antonio Brown and Derek Carr, plus the Packers are the Packers. I think there would definitely be some people who would want to check that game out.

Check out what happened in the past when the top earners were taxed at 70%+. Even the Trudeau Liberals haven't gone there, and Canada would gladly accept all the tax dodging musicians and actors who want to come here, knowing that their windows of opportunity for high earning could be very limited. Go ask Roger Moore or the Rolling Stones about how they liked living in the UK in the 70s (hint: they moved away).

It was a shame last summer to not be able to take drinks from The Common to an outdoor seating area. The existing restaurants that have patio space there are really crappy.

I've got a family member who works in a provincial office, and while quite a few of the older employees have left in the past decade, there are quite a few who have hung around hoping for Hydro-like buy-outs. Maybe their ship will finally be coming in...

So you'd rather that in get light at 4 am and dark at 8 or 9 pm in the summer? I'd prefer if we stayed on DST year-round so it's not dark by 5 pm in the winter..

Well, based on the number of times the federal NDP have held power, I'd say the system works!

I'm with you guys. Had a pollster call me about federal politics a few weeks ago, and couldn't tell them I favoured any of the main parties. Local candidates were equally bad in my riding. Tend to lean conservative fiscally, but I'll be damned if I'm going to vote for Jenny Motkaluk. Told them I was most likely to vote Green at this point, just for sharts and giggles.
