So got my AZ shot yesterday. Was fine until mid evening then I had crazy shakes at 11:30 and loaded up on blankets and turned on room heater. 3am it flipped and I was burning up. Must have tossed and turned 10000 times and never found cold part of pillow. Better this morning but head still buzzing.

There is some truth to blaming Manitobans. We have our fair share of those who either ignore isolation warnings as fake or believe God will protect them. It doesn't take that many to spread the virus by casual contact.

Agreed. When I read his remarks about not shutting things down because... jobs, I was pretty furious. I mean I get it... it is a gamble and it might work, we might avoid the same fate as Alberta or Ontario. But that is what enrages me, that instead of betting on the path that would mitigate death, severe illness and crush our already over worked health care system... he and bets on the path that helps the economy and doubles down on blaming the citizens if his gamble doesn't work... this government is bankrupt of responsibility.

Both of us had no initial reactions but about 24 hours later, I got a bit of the chills and fatigue (got me out of some work) and waifu had a bit more of a severe reaction, but she is diabetic. Anyhoo....we both survived and were able to go back to licking doorknobs.

There is zero chance that 38 million Canadians will be vaccinated by September. We could have 100 million doses available and we won't get that kind of vaccine uptake ever. I am hoping we can get 70% of Canadians immunized and I think the government will have to be heavy handed with no-vax restrictions to achieve that. There are just too many people who are being down right stupid on the whole vaccination process. The last 10-15% to herd immunity will be a trickle and will only be coming in kicking and screaming because they don't have a vax ID card or vax passport. At a time we are entering the 3rd wave caused primarily by a dangerous variant we have a lot AZ just sitting on the shelves. If the current state of our pandemic doesn't inspire people to go get it I don't foresee the vaccine hesitancy getting any better when case numbers fall.

I swear to God Winkler MB did mass labotamies lately. If it isn't the center for a new wave of variant in Manitoba I will be shocked. I needed to service some of my equipment so I went into a local dealer/ parts place. I go by the secretary - No mask. Go over to the parts counters. 3 parts men - No masks. I glance over at the service desk, 2 guys there - No masks. I'm in there for about 15 or 20 minutes getting things and about 6 other customers come and go - 1mask. Apparently they have just brushed off the entire pandemic. I just don't get it. I really don't.

My Dad & six uncles fought in WW2. My Mom didn't see my father for nearly 5 years. My oldest brother was born when he was away. I never heard my Mother bitching or complaining ever about having to be a single Mom in a World War not knowing if my Dad would ever return. They put up with shortages, rationing & life was not easy. I can't imagine the stress (that lasted for years) these women were under at the time.
