3 pointsO'shea has taken his fair share of criticisms over the years but it's undeniable that he's been instrumental in turning around the state and reputation of this franchise. We were the absolute laughingstock of the league and slowly but surely Walters and O'shea have turned the Bombers into one of the premiere destinations in the league and year in-year out contenders. I have no doubt that O'shea will win a grey cup as a head coach at some point. What I'm glad to see is that he didn't "learn" to do the job here and move on to Toronto to lead them. I'm 100% on board with O'shea's extension.3 points -

1 pointA direct quote from RF.com "Given the "new" CFL timing standard for promoting other teams assistants it's quite obvious it's too late for a new OC this year especially as there's likely no one sufficiently qualified for that role on Rider staff now. IMHO, Mcadoo gets the year at least." Funny how 2 days ago it's easy to just give up your OC to another team and find a new one. Happens all the time. Now it's too late to find one? And this isnt the only person saying this.1 point -

1 pointThe voting is closed for defensive tackle, and to no one's surprise Doug Brown is an all-timer, but very impressively, so is Stan Mikawos, with a clear-cut victory, over 3rd place, showing that steady excellence over a long period is valued as much as big flashy numbers. The defence is now set, and I have the coach and GM nominees up for voting this week. We will next consider the special teams, starting with the kicker and punter (where discussion has already commenced in other threads). Punter will be a short list (and even shorter voting argument, I'm sure) with Cameron and Ryan in just so we don't have an acclimation. Kicker has a couple of obvious choices in Kennerd and Westwood, but I'm prepared to add Medlock given his accuracy percentage. Any others?1 point -

1 pointI think Chamblin wanted his coaches back something like a month earlier & Dickenson said no. So, he was fired & went to Edmonton where Chris Jones had just been hired. That was Chamblin's final year as Riders HC. He became dictatorial & eventually lost the locker room. Hopefully, he learned a huge lesson out of all that & will treat his assistants & players in Toronto a lot better.1 point -

The Gender Pay Gap
The Gender Pay Gap
kelownabomberfan reacted to Brandon for a post in a topic
1 pointThe pay gap doesn't exist... every paper I read has said that men gravitate towards jobs that pay more, while ladies tend to gravitate to jobs that don't pay as much. Human nature that men are more into the math and science while the ladies are more into administrative and health care jobs. It's human nature that women are more likely wanting to take maternity leave then the father , this is a massive factor when they claim "pay gap differentials". You can't say that scientifically Men and Women are build the same, so of course the end results of who makes more won't be equal 50/50. I myself have never seen two people doing the exact same job where one gender was paid more then another. I'd love to see real world examples of someone working at Wal-Mart making 15 dollars because they were a male , meanwhile a female was given only 10 dollars in pay because she was a female. Nobody ever gives these kinds of examples because in North America this does not exist at all. The old their is 85% of CEO's being male bla bla bla... I don't buy any of that crap. As I said before private enterprise companies will hire whoever can make them the most money. More men are qualified for upper level management because scientifically men are build to be better leaders. I definitely can agree with Kelowna because I've never worked anywhere or seen anywhere where a man was paid more because of his gender. Studies are bull **** and you can find a study backing anything you want.1 point -

1 pointi think if it comes down to being outbid on both..we will go all in on one and roll with Gray/Couture (who-ever wins out) in camp and I'd be fine with that...that extra money that a national lineman would cost us would go a looong way in resigning JSK and bringing in a Posey or Derel Walker1 point -

1 pointThe Bombers are developing their backup QB in a refreshingly innovative way. They obviously have a number of "Streveler" packages that include pass/run options primarily centered around intermediate to short gains (less than 20 yards). Last year they consistently inserted him into the game when the stakes were real "the game was obviously still in contention" to play those Streveler packages. It's WAY more consequential playtime than any backup I've ever seen get outside of injury to a starter. Allows him to build confidence in a more natural way while simultaneously providing additional offensive depth to the Bombers attack.1 point -

1 pointWhat seems to be lost on the Rider fans, and even some Bomber fans, is that Paul Lapo wanted, received, and agreed to an extra year on his contract. No one put a gun to his head. 2 year contracts are now the norm for coordinators. Why? Because they wanted multiple years of GUARANTEED salary in exchange for their signature. Lapo could have gone year to year on his contract if he wanted the freedom to leave whenever a job came up...but he didn't. He took a two year extension because that would guarantee his salary beyond one year. I hardly think it's fair for coaches/GMs to sign multi-year deals for GUARANTEED money and then cry foul when they are actually asked to honor them. We would honor the contractual payment if we had decided to move on from Lapo. If the coaches around the league truly want their freedom to move, it's quite simple, give up the GUARANTEED contract as a sign of good faith.1 point -

1 pointAll joking aside, the Riders faithful are upset at the situation but the blame should solely rest on two men Chris Jones and Reynolds. In 2015 these two men engaged in back room negotiations during the season in order to completely blindside a divisional rival. This stunk so badly the CFL had to create new rules to make sure it didn't happen again. For the first time in CFL history other teams now needed league approved consent to hire a coach away from another team. Rider fans cackled with glee at how they screwed over the Evil Empire. 3 years later the man who tampered with Jones got a heavy dose of karma by trusting him. Gone was the savior because Reynolds was too stupid to get a cutoff date on Jones NFL out clause. Now faced with needing to poach another coach got an even bigger dose of karma when the rule created because of his cheating bit him in the nads. Rider fans are still crying foul...but the rest of the CFL says ..HA HA Karma beyotch! Hows the tampering and acting in poor faith working out 4 you now?1 point -
